I had originally rated this just a tad bit lower cause of the quality but then I realized it’s an older film and that kind of changed my opinion of it.
For a free movie on Amazon Prime it wasn’t too bad, kind of wish there was more of a paranormal aspect to it besides the last 5 minutes really. Also, wish they would not have used up so much time explaining the history of the place at the beginning of the film. Got kind of boring really quick.
We all know though I am a sucker for any found footage movie no matter how good or how bad it may be. This one though is watchable and entertaining for the most part.
If you’re a fan of the Found Footage genre and have Amazon Prime you should check this film out, plus it’s free. >> Strawberry Estates <<
A fledging sorority moves into a dilapidated house only to find something evil is lurking in the shadows. Is it an elaborate hazing ritual? Or is something sinister – something paranormal – behind the mental and physical assault?
If you ask me this is another entertaining flick from the mind of Henrique Couto. I’m glad I came across his films on Amazon, I would actually pay to watch them and the fact they are free with your Prime membership makes them even better. In the last couple of weeks, I’ve watched Alone in the Ghost House, Devil’s Trail, Amityville: No Escape, Calamity Jane and now Haunted House on Sorority Row. It’s great he uses a lot of the same actors for his films especially since I think they are decent actors. He also uses the same house in a handful of his flicks which I think is neat.
This movie is about a group of girls that purchase this house for there sorority at a bargain price because a tragic event happened there in the past. After they move in all kinds of bad thing start to happen. Will they figure out the mystery of the house and survive until morning or will the house add a few more victims to the list?
If you have Amazon Prime you really got to give this movie a try along with the other movies I mentioned above. You can’t go wrong with free plus it’s always good to help support an independent film maker.
A minor celebrity and her husband head out on the road to investigate the most haunted house in America for their very own reality show, but upon arriving at the Devil’s Commune things become worse than they could have ever imagined. They wanted fame, they found HELL.
Director: Henrique Couto Writers: Henrique Couto, John Oak Dalton
This movie was actually rather entertaining, it didn’t have a lot in the way of jump scares and other creepy moments but as far as a b-rated found footage movie it was pretty good. Also knowing the movie was shot in three days and a majority of the dialogue was improvised I was impressed. The movie did seem a lot different than I thought it would be from watching the trailer but that’s ok it was still good just not what I was expecting. The only reason I gave it four out of five cause I didn’t really care for the ending even though I was surprised by it. I almost came close to renting this on Google Play but I saw it on Amazon and figured for free I have to watch it but I still would have been pleased if I paid to see it.
