Synopsis:
Anthropologist Joe Weber, a disillusioned American living abroad, is called back to the U.S. to care for his troubled teenage son, Jeremy. Hoping to reconnect, Joe takes Jeremy to a small New England town called Salem’s Lot, where he once spent part of his childhood.
Upon arriving, they discover the town has a dark secret—it is entirely inhabited by vampires. These vampires aren’t feral creatures of instinct; they are an organized, civilized society trying to live in harmony with human values… sort of. They recruit Joe to write their official history, hoping his academic credibility will help legitimize their existence.
As Joe delves deeper into their world, he’s increasingly disturbed by their moral rationalizations and the eerie control they hold over the town. When his son becomes entangled in their plans, Joe is forced to make a choice: join the vampires or fight against them.
